Forgive me for not posting this yesterday, but the internet was acting weird and i got annoyed so i went to sleep lool.
Matthew 3
This chapter is about when John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness, baptising and then when Jesus came to him asking to be baptised.
One verse that stood out to me is the one that speaks about trees that do not bear fruit...
"10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire."
This reminds me that i must always bear fruit, i cant be the type of person that lets opportunities go by like that. to sit around being lazy NO! i must DO something and bear fruits! I could easily stop writing this blog, thinking its doing nothing, but i know if i persevere it will make a difference in someones life - thats this blog bearing fruits. In everything we do we must give it our best, our all, even when all seems lost, if its Gods inspiration then it must bear fruit but thats down to you!
Finally for this Chapter...is the last verse..
"17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
Before this God didnt call Jesus His son, this happened after Jesus received the Holy Spirit, so anyone who does not have the Spirit of God cannot be called His child, harsh but true (I think also there is a verse in the Bible saying exactly this lol). So God only called Jesus His son after He received His Spirit.
Genesis 7, 8 & 9
Genesis 7 speaks about when all the animals went into the ark, and then when God let the rain fall.
So, one thing that stood out to me, although i dont understand it so i need to ask my Pr (unless anyone here can answer it lol) is this...
"2 You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that areunclean, a male and his female;"
Why 7 of every clean animal? and 2 of those that are unclean? hmmm...
This chapter can show how quick you can die, im sure every living thing on Earth wasnt expecting to die but God destroyed them because of how they were. It just shows that our life can go like that (snap your fingers) one second your here next you aren't so we cant take our life for granted!
Chapter 8 speaks about when God made it stop raining and sent a great wind (kinda like the one outside at the moment gosh..) to blow away the floods. The first verse of the chapter actually makes me laugh lol..
"1 Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided."
I only highlighted that bit because thats the bit that made me laugh..like God forgot Noah was there lool...but yeah moving onnn...
Verse 21, a promise God made with Man..its self explanatory so i wont comment on it, but its strong.
"21 And the LORD smelled a soothing aroma. Then the LORD said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done."
Chapter 9 speaks about after, when Noah and his family came out of the ark, this verse can be related to today, although you may not see it happen it will...
"6 “ Whoever sheds man’s blood,
By man his blood shall be shed;
For in the image of God
He made man."
Speaks for its self...
The major thing that stood out for me is a covenant God made with Noah! This is why everytime i see a rainbow i think of this part in the Bible.
11 Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: 13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. 14 It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; 15 and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
This isnt just a covenant with Noah but with us also, God promised not to destroy the Earth again as He did here, and to remind us of this, a sign of His covenant with us is the rainbow! Thank God for His mercy upon us.
The final thing is when Noah became drunk and uncovered in his tent, something i read in the footsteps of Jesus book...we shouldnt expose our friends/co workers in Faith's mistakes, like Noahs youngest son did, instead we shouldnt look at it and cover it up, help the situation, like Noahs other sons did. After exposing his Dad's 'mistake' he got cursed...so you see the severity of not exposing things?
Sorry this was a bit rushed but i need to leave in 30 mins and i need to get ready lol. I am definitely going to Vlog today as i am going out with my friend soo ill see you later guys! God bless!
